About

Profile picWhen I was a child, the family gathered around our television set (black and white) to watch a popular quiz show called What’s My Line? In it, a panel of guest celebrities questioned a contestant in order to identify his or her job or profession. Were it still on the air I might have made a good contestant. I have been a priest, a staff psychologist and faculty member in a university medical center and a school psychologist for a county board of education. Now I am attempting to add writer to the list. Gaining entry to these professions required rather lengthy programs of study which I pursued at the University of Ottawa, University of Toronto – both its Institute of Child Study and its School of Theology (the latter in collaboration with L’Université Saint Paul) and the University of Massachusetts/Boston. I carried out my studies and work in Ontario, the Canadian Maritimes, New England and the mid-Atlantic states. As for writing, I have taken workshops at the Writers’ Center in Bethesda, Maryland, attended a summer program on creative nonfiction at Goucher College in Baltimore, and completed classes at the Community College of Baltimore County. I live with my wife, Marian, and our dog, Max, in Maryland. Our daughter and son live their busy lives nearby.
